weekend is over
...but since I have no class or job it's still playtime. My first "real" mountain biking trip was awesome, and I had a blast. I would say that I might be addicted. Ya know, moving to Colorado has really transformed me into an outside person. Just click on the slideshow if you want to see a larger version. Here's the pics:

another day
Since I dropped my Maymester class I had absolutely nothing to do today. When I have nothing to do, my day usually starts at 11am when I wake up. Whenever people asked me what I was going to do after I got out of the Navy, I always said "Sleep." So, I like to think I'm living up to everyone's expectations now. I played GTA4 for a few hours and then decided to go out for a bike ride. I rode down Cottonwood trail and back, but at only 2.6 miles it left me unfulfilled. I had no idea where to go or how to get there, I just rode out on the Twin Lakes trail and found a BMX course that was heavily eroded. Some of the features were fun, but most were completely trashed. It was a fun ride, but not much of a change in elevation, which was what I'm looking for.
I live pretty far from the mountains now, but I guess I'm going to have to suck it up because driving costs way too much money nowadays. Driving has become a special occasion for me.
Biking and hiking around my place is sort of scary because they found the bubonic plague in the prairie dog colonies at the nearest intersection from my apartment. If you don't believe me, click here. It doesn't sound like it could happen, but the freakin' black death is right outside my door. I figure if I'm riding fast enough past them prairie dogs the fleas won't have time to jump on me. Maybe that's stupid, but what else can I do? Sometimes it's just way too hot for pants.

New condo
I couldn't do it anymore, I had to drop my Ethics class. It was so boring and uninteresting. Why should I read and write 3 papers a week on some dude that thinks he knows how to best live life. I don't need an ancient philosopher saying my life is bullshit, I'm happy the way I am and there's no reason to analyze that. So now I have 3 weeks to do nothing... my favorite. Hopefully, I'll get a lot of hiking in and whatnot, maybe some skiing too. I'm just going to double up on classes in July to make up for this one. Ethics is not for me.
Instead of posting a bunch of photos of my new place I just recorded a short video. For all of you that care:

Exhausting
I wish I could say I did something today that actually deserves a title such as "exhausting," but that's really not true. The fact that I woke up at 11:30am doesn't help either. I just went and cleaned out the old apartment with Ashley for 3 hours and re-organized some stuff in the new place. The thing that pisses me off about this new place is there is less closet+storage space than my old one, but it seems like it's roomier. I guess it's because I had stairs in the old apartment, and I could just throw all the crap I don't use underneath the stairs. I had to throw out a bunch of clothes and my 50" TV box that doubled as a table to wax my skis (and it worked surprisingly well). I was also sick of lugging around all those empty DVD cases I had been saving over the years, so I tossed 'em. What can ya do? I just bit the bullet and got rid of that shit. Actually, I didn't throw the clothes out, I donated them... no use in having them sit in a landfill forever. Anyways, all we gotta do with the old place is vacuum, clean the bathroom and we'll be finished with it forever... THANK YOU!
I was pretty excited earlier today, because I sold back a bunch of my textbooks. I got $177 back, and I was planning on buying something cool, but then I realized I had no food so $150 of it went to buying groceries... damn it all.
I would also like to make a note of how much I hate Colorado meteorologists... I was expecting some thunderstorms today, and I got nothing. Till next time, I'm now going to play some GTA4 + Vodka & Orange Juice and unwind. Should be a bitchin' time.
